Installing Extensions
Extensions are what give your AI agent its capabilities. Each extension adds a set of tools (like querying your YouTube analytics or transcribing a video) that your agent can call on demand.
Installing from the store
Open the Extensions tab
Click Extensions in the Watt sidebar to open the extension store.
Browse available extensions
Extensions are listed with a name, description, and the capabilities they add. Browse to find what fits your workflow. See the full extensions catalog for details on each one.
Click Install
Click Install on any extension. Installation is non-blocking. You can keep using the app while it downloads and sets up.
Watch the progress banner
A banner at the top of the screen shows installation progress through these stages:
queued → downloading → extracting → installing → starting → done
Most extensions install in under a minute.
Extension is ready
Once status shows done, the extension is active and its tools are available to your AI agent immediately.
Managing installed extensions
Enable or disable
Toggle any installed extension on or off from the Extensions list. Disabled extensions don’t run and their tools aren’t available to your agent.
Extension settings
Some extensions have configuration options. Click the gear icon on an installed extension to open its settings panel. Changes take effect immediately.
Uninstall
Open an extension’s settings panel and click Uninstall at the bottom. This removes the extension and its data from your Mac.
Extensions that depend on each other
Some extensions work together. For example, the video transcription workflow uses both the YouTube data tools and the local transcription engine. When you install an extension that requires another, Watt will show you what will be installed alongside it before you confirm.
